Fall in Love!

Well, I just finished adding my photos to the site.  Go check them out and be inspired. Doing this really brought back memories of my journey and where I am now as a running Coach.  I will openly admit that staying the course was challenging, but when I look at the pictures of my transformation what I can say is that it was worth all the effort, money and time spent.

The question is was it easyNO! It wasn’t easy, but it was Simple.  Why was it simple?  I believe it was simple because I fell in love with the process the journey.  What I know for sure, is that wellness & fitness is a lifestyle change that takes time.

How much time? I don’t know.  We’re all different.  BUT! Who cares about the time, when or how? Just fall in Love with the Journey and I guarantee what you want for your life will come into being.

For the record my ultimate goal weight is 150lbs.  Will I reach it? I don’t know.  When will I reach it? I don’t know that either.  What I do know is I will continue to love me as I am my weight does not matter.  And I will stay excited about creating a healthy lifestyle that works for me.  Will you fall in love with you?

Welcome to Let’s Run for Fun!

Welcome to my first blog post for “Let’s run 4 fun.”  This post is extra exciting for me because I’m writing it on March 18, 2012 and it’s my birthday.    When I think about birthdays, I think about new beginnings a chance to improve or do something different. I’m a new blogger this is something different and I’m looking forward to improving.

My beginning as a new runner makes me laugh when I think about it.  I finished dead last, but I was excited because I Finished!  As a beginner or comeback runner, be kind to yourself, enjoy your new beginning, be excited about the finish and have fun!

I have observed two types of running behaviors especially for new runners:

  1. Over zealous wanting to be in the front of the running pack, i.e. run FAST or ready to run 10K NOW! (That was me – ouch!)
  2. I need some MOTIVATION to get me out of the door.

Hiring a coach can save you a lot of pain and frustration.  There is one piece of advice I wish I would have adopted as a new runner and that is it’s okay to WALK before you get tired.

I challenge you to go out for a walk/run session tomorrow.  Comment back and let me know how far you go, you can share the number of blocks, miles, length of time, whichever is the easiest, but better yet use the Training Log in the Resource area to keep track.

Have a Fun Run!
